One of the mobs I worked for had a Fuel Pincher in a semi coach/ type bus. It never missed a beat and was, as they say, was very cheap to run.

OK, if these engines were as good as the blurbs would have you believe, what happened to them?
Couldn't meet latest Californian emissions?
Or was it simply something like the US love affair with big cube petrol engines?
In todays lingo, 3000rpm would hardly be out of the norm, but dont know about the engine being designed to "last the life of the truck, 50,000 miles"
Seems to me that it wouldn't take all that long to clock that up!
Even in a bus/coach or a rigid bodied pie-cart.
Unless I'm missing something?

I have heard plenty of self appointed experts on everything bad mouth these motors but have never heard it from someone who owned one
Not that there were ever many about in Australia, or at least to my knowledge
I think they were comparable to most other small diesel Yanky motors of the time, 3208 Cat, 555 Cummins, IH made a V8 diesel as well, it idled 4 cylinders in tractors and ran on 8 under load
They were probably better than the last two mentioned
