Load Binders Dogs was created by Hi Beam

Went to a garage sale last week. Bloke had a Wog Dog, AKA Railway dog. Anyone got a photo? What if any was their correct name? Hadn't seen one for 40 years.

If it's what I think your refering to , they were known as an Oyster Dog, a round looking main body that was tightened with a steel bar rather than a pipe, clumsy and the claws were not like the claws of a Oregan dog or similar type of pulldown dog.

I have had to edit this to refer to the description of an ''Oyster Dog'' They were magic when carting sawn timber under tarps as you didn't have to undo as many ropes to tighten the chains. One disadvantage was that you needed a really tough bar to get them tight, VW torsion bars were the best. One huge advantage was no one pinched them

Finding one to get a photo would hard I reckon, I haven't seen or used one for close to 50 years. Yes, like a lot of old equipment, good for some jobs and no good for others, the Valiant torsion bars with the square cut off one end and ground down a bit were good, also for J loaders in a pan.

Oyster dogs eh? Ask and you shall recieve.... Found these ages ago and thought they were too good to throw away. And now I know that they are called oyster dogs- Bonus!
