Do we need to fill out work diary when on club outings when in fact we are not working in any sense of the definition of work as it is leisure time. Has this ever been challenged

Isn't there a distance thing before filling out?

Swish, I always knew about the 100k radius of depot, but never knew about the 5 hours. Is that 5 hours a new thing?

Wondered too Overnite. Worked a tipper in Qld. 6 trips in a 11 - 12 hour day, 600 + k a day but never more than 60 k from base.

Vic, with regards to the 5 work hours, I assume that only comes into the equation when you travel outside the 100k radius. As I read it the word “and” clarifies it.
“operate under standard hours AND work more than 100km from their base ”. BIDSTBC. I think that must have been inserted after I left the highway.

The point I am making is that it is a WORK diary and you are not working so could it be a defence in court

A work diary must be used over 12 tonnes and over 100Klm. A page costs 26c and it is far cheaper than a fine.

I'd rather have tools that I don't need, than not have the tools I do need.

Cliffo, If Your Trucks GVM is 12 Tonne or More & you're going more that a 100K's from Home Fill the book Out..

The point I am making is that it is a WORK diary and you are not working so could it be a defence in court

When must I use a work diary?
Drivers of fatigue-regulated heavy vehicles must carry and complete a work diary to record their work and rest times if they:

operate under standard hours and work more than 100km from their base or

operate under basic fatigue management (BFM) or
operate under advanced fatigue management (AFM)

What is a fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle?
A fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle is a vehicle or combination with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of more than 12 tonnes.

It's pretty clear cut In My opinion Cliffo...

I do know there's a push in N.S.W. to change the definition of a Fatigue Regulated Heavy Vehicle to;

A fatigue-regulated heavy vehicle is a Commercially Registered vehicle or combination with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of more than 12 tonne
I don't if It will ever get up, But here's hoping..

don't matter." -
