The RFS had a display of vintage and historic fire trucks. I can't find the name of the first one but it was unusual as it was powered by a V12 petrol engine with 2 spark plugs per cylinder

That first fire truck might be an American LaFrance.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your photos, they are terrific.

Brett.

On that Chamberlin loader, Since they were owned by John Deere could a lot of the parts come from the Deere line of construction equipment?????

Does the Departmen t of main Roads (DMR) restore vehicles (with tapayers money) or is a subsequent owner merely honouring the first owner?

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,

Now I find I can't do any work in this position!

Re the fire engine with the V12 two plug per pot per cylinder, Brett could be right, probably one of the Hall-Scott variety,
an engine well known for reliability, but definitely not for economy!

The badge on the front confirms it to be an American LaFrance. The engine is a Model J V12 of their own manufacture. The twin plugs were fitted with one fired by distributer and and the other by magneto, so if one system failed, the appliance could still operate as normal.
