There was an earlier Chamberlain 4x4 artic loader with two Champion back ends as axles ......the Qld Main Roads had one .........the pics look like either Clark or Rockwell axles ....(.although I think Eaton also made planetary axles )...........there was huge difference in parts prices .....Rockwells were truck parts prices ,Clark just crazy expensive.

Re Wee-Allis's correction of the American LaFrance engine in the fire truck, there's an interesting story of some bloke in the States wanting to Rat Rod one of these v12 beasts!
If it's the big engine, 904 cu in, derived from a Lycoming v12 aero engine, or so they are saying, where the 'smaller" engine was something like 527 cu in.
Either one would have been a big heavy hunk of metal!
Also worth a look is a 'Seagrave'
V12 engine, developed from the Pierce-Arrow autos of the 1930's an engine still being produced and used in fire trucks in the 1980's

A Jelbart tractor, only one I have seen running

There's a Jelbart Tractor in the Local Engine Club Here...

And a Little bit of Useless Trivia, for you...

My father In-Law tells the Story about How one of His Sisters was Married to a Jelbart.
The First Time She brought Him Home to Meet the family, They're all sitting around the Dining Room Table His father Looks Up & says.

Jelbart Ehh Son, Any relation to the Jelbart Tractors..??

Yes Sir, They were Built By Dad's Cousins...!!

Well I hope you're Better Bloke than The Tractors.......... they were Shit..!

Needless to say, They were Married the best part of 60 Yrs.. Before she Died, & He lived another 10-12 Yrs, & only died a couple of Years Ago..
