cummins rebuild

cheating, i am about to re build a c 160, i have built petrol engines but never a diesel. i would like to know the tips and tricks to building these motors.
i know that parts are hard to find for this motor,i have got a set of gaskets, 2 complete engines and a short engine,one has problems (big end)the other is meant to be a good short engine. any pointers into what to look for as far as problems with these engines would be great.
i have read that there is problems with the u bolts (big end) so do i undo the (meant to be good short engine) 'u 'bolts if so i have read that welding the cups shut after torquing the bolts is a good idea ?
can someone email the torque settings ?
