Hi Rusty,From the info received so far......
The cab is LAD after 1971 vintage.Witness the crappy plastic "Leyland" letters located on the lower edge of the upper grille.
By the chassis no (which appears to be 69857C) it is an "Albion" of some description.
While the steering wheel would again indicate a post 1971 build that engine looks like a
350/370 Leyland and I don't think these were fitted beyond 1965/66.Their place was taken
by 400/401s.Gearbox also appears to be Albion/Leyland.
Axles are almost certainly military spec RL/ML Bedford.Civilian RLs had 8 stud wheels fitted with 900.20 rubber/duals on rear.
More useful info on what this truck was in it's original form can be obtained from that plate on the driver's door.If the cab and the chassis are from the same truck then the chassis no will be repeated on that plate. There will also be a chassis designation most likely starting
"CH" (Chieftain) but possibly "CD"(Clydesdale) or longshot,"RE"(Reiver).

Don't think it would pass an engineering test with those front spring hangers these days
Rusty Engines, Where about is it around Townsville?

Be it firearms or V8 engines, the question is not "why should you have them?"
, but "who are you to demand that I justify them?"

lol ... lookin more and more like a leave it where it is prospect ... unless ya can find a use for the cab, or find some original drive-train components ...
