I worked with a bloke from Beacon and went to his engagement party up there a few years ago.
I bought a stubbie holder from the pub it said-
Beacon......living on the edge....
It sure is up there on the edge of the wheat belt,the land around beaccon wasn't cleared until as late as the 40's. It marks the end of farm land and the beguining of the scruby staition country.
We went to this old blokes place as they knew I was into old trucks and he had a few layling around.
This bloke was a bit of a hermit,nice old fella,but had never thrown anything out. I reckon there would have been 50 years worth of his vehicles there,cars,utes,tractors,headers,trucks,bikes you name it he had kept it,lawn mowers,washing machines,toasters,power tools the lot all out the back of his shed in a paddock.
We went past a few propertys a bit like this where old gear had been parked up and left to sit.
I love traveling around county areas looking for old trucks and gear that have been stuck out the back.
Good luck with getting your old banger accross the paddock mate

This is similar to the one I have purchased, complete with cab (but without the disc plough).
Apparently now it has the H U G E single rear tyres fitted, but the owner has thrown in the duals as seen here;
So that is why I prefer not to sell the extra tyres in Perth.
Ron. I'd say your plan sounds the best so far.
I did place an ad on loadshift.com.au
I appreciate all the advice and yes, even thought about buying a trailer and towing it full of 44's, food and camping equipment. Not for long
, but I did think about it.
Rod.

Rod - It's a 9G is it? Does it have a cab on it? What are the tyre sizes for the duals? I guess they are complete with rims? What kind of time frame are you looking at, for moving it? (latest pick-up date).

Hi Ron. It's a Super 90;
www.gibbstractorcollection.com.au/modelsup90mk1_vg.htm
Tyre sizes are # Rear - 23.1 x 26 on split cast wheels.
# Special rear, 18.4 x 30 ( duals ).
Yes it does have a cab on it and IN NO HURRY AT ALL! Sometime in 2011 would be nice.
(That should give me time to get a few more credit cards
)
Thanks. Rod.

also check up to see if u have to get it washed for qarantine
i send tractors over east, because they are going to a wrecking yard, we dont have to be as picky, but going to farms is a different story
if u had a semi load, its around $4500 from here to there, u can get 3 full size tractors on a float + lots of goodies
