Hi There, just hoping a few of you can help me out.
Im wanting to find out what brands or models of LPV vehicles are out there. I know International made one the 1850 in single drive, and i think i have seen reference to one made by Isuzu which i think was single drive too. So what others do you all know about and are there any bogie drive ones out there?. Thanks for you help.

Laminex down here in Tassie had two LPV's both Acco's one 1850 4X2 and from memory a 2350 6X4 both had Perkins Phaser motors at slightly different settings. they were a pig to work on.

I think the International ACCO was 6x2 rather than 6x4. Built mainly for the soft drink carriers.
Why were they a pig to work on ?

I remember seeing some Acco's, perkins180? / spicer???? lazy axle, built very low, although straight chassis.
Used on steel cartage to suit the 9 metres lengths
Orange or manderin color, sorta thought they were for Linfox??

Back in the '80s White built the "expiditer'.

Finemores had a heap of KW L700's on car carriers.

& I think TPI (cleanaway) are currently bringing in( or trying to) the Dennis Dart/eagle.

Yeah I think you're right they were 6X2

Everything on them was compressed into a smaller space the Perkins Phaser engines both 180 and i think 240 hp were pushed down in the chassis and were very cramped to get at anyhting. The Laniex ones had a very low and long tray on them and to do anything on them meant we had to jack them right up as we only used the pit for servicing and had to keep it clear as much as possible.

When I say they were a pig to work on it's probably just the fact that I personally hated working on them, others may not have hated them as much.

Learner: those Freightliners are standard models with ultra low profile rims/tyres ets. We had 2 T404's ex tankers set up the same but the company decided to put more standard tyres on them. the boys loved that until the boss found out that the bigger tyres meant about 15 km'h faster....which put them up around the 115km/h mark...yes they got cut back to 100km/h

I think some of us are confusing low profile cabs with low profile vehicles which are totally designed to be an over all lower height ... eg. low chassis/low cab
