Beautiful evenly spaced box, but, the air supply had to be kept real clean or they wouldn't change. Reverse was a switch on the dash, coupled to a 350 Cummins they were hard to beat in the late 60's...early 70's 8-)

Trust me

Here's one for you. Does anyone have any photos of the W Model Kenworth that was at the Sydney truck show in 1978 (I think) that Kenworth did up with Bud rims and 'K-WHOPPER' in script along the front bumper???

And more so, what happened to it??

Some play hard to get

Don't know what became of it,Bruce. It would appear to be the T&BT Truck of the Show.

It was parked next this one for Max Keogh.K125CR.8V92 powered with an aluminium chassis.

Welcome any info or pictures of 60s Australian AEC Mustangs (Leyland Comet lookalikes)

Wow cemeNTpede 8-) 8-) 8-) You know I was hoping to see some colour shots of K-Whopper and my interest was reignited by a new hardcover book of the history of KW in Australia that our local dealer presented to my boss after we just bought four new 409SAR's from them.

In that book was a b&w photo of the W model taken from about the same point as your shot (did you take the pic???). But in that pic I also noticed the truck alongside being Max's cabover.

My next post on this thread was going to ask for any shots of that cabover and you come out and produce the best pic of it I have ever seen

FWIW, I was 8 years old when Max bought that truck to replace his Dodge Crackerbox (currently at the RTHOF) and his ageing 111 Scania with V653 Detroit power, and it was Max and that blue and white cabover that cemented my interest in trucks.

So here I am at 41 and for the past three or so years have been 'kind of' trying to find that old cabover of his and a few months ago I thought I had it.

I've just gotta find it and that photo you posted has ignited the brightest flame.

Thanks so much :) :) :) :) :)

Any other pics? Anyone?

g'day cunning check out the big rigs down under, published in the late '70's or early '80's...it shows ''k whopper'' in colour, as well as max keoghs' cabover.
