Hi Guys, my name is Mark, I am from Maitland up in NSW. I joined here because I have a passion for old things. I own a 1948 Dodge Power Wagon complete with PTO Winch but it has a different Dodge ute back on it. I bought it back in 1996 when I retired from BHP and used it to advertise my business instead of using Yellow Pages (you cant sell your yellow pages ad) I love it simply because it big, tough, old and charismatic (rather like its owner) ;D I cant drive it anywhere without playing 100 questions with those that see it. Its paintwork is becoming a little cracked in some places but its drive train is as good as new. The engine number is simply TE3 which I suppose stands for Truck Engine No 3. I enjoy driving it at a leisurely pace of 70kph as at that speed the noise is bearable.
I welcome any questions OR comments about my Dodge and would like to know of any other owners. Cheers guys :)

Hello Mark,
I have just registered to HCVC Forum, joined the club earlier this year. I am working on a history of Dodges in Aust. So far as I know the Power Wagons were only marketed in Aust in 1958-59 and had the old wartime cab even though the USA Power Wagons had a modern cab by 1958. I believe the Snowy Mountains Authority may have imported some in the early fifties. Is yours an ex military type? I would welcome any further information &/or photos of Dodge Power Wagons in Australia. Cheers, Lance

Gday Lance,
Looking forward to seeing the Dodge book, they were a full on operation here in the 60s and 70s. There was an interesting looking Dodge 4x4 at the recent Alexandra truck show. Andy may have a photo of it.
Cheers Pete
