Grandad,
The springs on the TT are much heavier than the car but of the same design.
I checked my Ford T aftermarket book and those particular "shock absorbers" are actually to reduce body roll with a high load. As you can imagine the transverse spring system has the chassis balancing almost on a single point and it is not too stable in roll.

How about this. Both types are on the same page! Yours are Hassler and the mystery chassis is Superior.
Yours won't stop body roll, just control rebound. They are also outrageously priced at about $17 for a set. The ones on the chassis work off the cross members to stop roll. Obviously the "Alford" style in the photo here would be best for that job.

Hi Grandad, I'm not sure quite what you are doing with the pictures Mate, you've almost got it, but the img codes seem to be in the wrong place, or too many of them, I've just fixed this one and I fixed the other one earlier.
When you copy the img code link off photobucket, you don't need to put any other codes with it.
Keep persevering, we'll figure it out. Your 90% there.

Hi Cam, thanks for sorting out the pics, I thought I had finally mastered it......
Hi Lang, looks like there was a lot of aftermarket business with this truck including extra gearboxes , it must have been very useful to be able to tailor it to suit whatever work it had to do

Grandad,
I have a book from the late 20's with maybe a thousand different aftermarket products manufactured exclusively for the Model T. Everything from "Cop Spotters" (rear view mirror) to overhead valve engine conversions.

Ford continued with transverse springing in cars until 1948. David.

They actually continued with transverse springs for much longer than that, David. Unbelievably, the Ford Popular still had them right up to 1959.

Yes, The "Roll-over Model" Prefect - late 40's early 50's? - demonstrated the lack of side stability. I actually saw 2 fall over before my very eyes during the early 60's.
