The bellhouseing looks factory can’t remember without chasing snakes to have a look under dads bedford camper but I think it’s just a Holden box with a remote shifter
Can’t think of anything else that had a Holden motor that box with the mount/hole on the rear extension housing looks familiar but just can’t place it

Certainly an unusual box, mounting cast on top of output housing. Could be USA origin with shifter fitted to right side.

Is it a Holden engine ???
Could be a 250 Chev .. they looked bloody near identical except the Chev was physically bigger ...
I'd say it's an Americam manufacturers creation

Werk I don't think it's a Chev, after doing some quick Googling the chev appears to have a starter motor on the other side
And the bell housing bolts on top are wider apart to suit the bolt pattern
I dunno if chev made the starter motor on each side and if holden made the 6 with a chev bolt pattern
But a good thought none the less, it may yet be right, as I said I really have no idea

Zenith Engineering in Brisbane used to make cast iron bell housings to adapt Holden motors to all sorts of gearboxes............Ive seen a lot of Daihatsu s with Holden sixes and 8s and Zenith housings..........Geoff Moesker left a lot of Clarktor bits behind in my yard ,including a Holden adapted to a small 3 speed Clark industrial box ,with a top gearstick............and Clark forklifts used Holden sixes as well for some years.

It was the Holden grey engine they bolted up Riley 4 speeds to. Looks Holden red 6 with original bell housing but that box looks way mismatched to the bell housing to me.

I may have chucked in an early 4speed Opel box like some HR's came out with, but that remote setup is all wrong, as well as the tail house extension!
