Wouldn't be a Bantam under some sort of Land-Lease? Those look a little like Pommy soldiers, bloke in the front with a Vickers, but not sure if Bantams were used in North Africa. (and that's only a WAG!)
Swishy, you dropped enough clues with the Fageol-Peterbilt link!
Cheers

WW2 Western Desert, Long Range Desert Patrol Vehicle - this mob used mainly Chevrolets, as in your picture (1936 I'd say, but most were '41 Chevs). I believe there were a few Fords ('39/'40s) and even the odd Morris and Humber used also.

APPEAL FOR RETRIAL
I believe the jury have made an incorrect identification in the previous post (most certainly the "jury" - not Swishy!?).
My first thought was Marmon Herrington also but I went searching somewhat further, eventually trolling up the pictures included here.
Note the front fender shape and position of headlight . . .
Please consider a further hearing to prevent a miscarriage of justice.

I have my shoulder to the wheel,
my nose to the grindstone,
I've put my best foot forward,
I've put my back into it,
I'm gritting my teeth,
Now I find I can't do any work in this position!
