If your in real need of one, then I can offer you the newer mb version. Its 120mm in width with 2 screws 60mm apart. PM if your interested.

..a very nice outcome geoffa .. could you tell us a bit about the old 1418 ?..

This 1418 was offered at a clearing sale near Narromine yesterday. (13 June). The bonnet had a raised section about 75mm in diameter underneath the remains of the MB badge on the front of the bonnet.

My question to the Mercedes Benz gurus out there is.

My 1418 bonnet is flat in that area, was there a change during the time of the three wiper models, or does my 1418 have the bonnet of an earlier model ?.

The truck sold for $4,500, the motor was not started, it was said it did run but had a 'noise' in it. The truck had the original 5 sp MB gearbox and diff. A spare engine and RR gearbox bought to replace those in the truck sold for $1,050.

When we did my Benz we got a Benz badge from a dealer that is off the new vans. \it does not look out of place.
