Signwriting

Ok iam getting in early, who,s a real good old school sign writer that's around Melbourne, you know thick&thin,scrolls, proper scrolls not this s#@t that looks like a bird has stepped in paint then run over the truck! iam around 4/5 weeks of needing some, there use to be a fella in fern tree gully,formula one signs,that was years ago..... any ideas boys???

We have used a local company called Gem Signs. He did a very good job copying some 1939 scroll work for us on an Inter resto. We are just up near Emerald, not far from F.T.G. You are welcome to come and have a look at the work if you like. Cheers, Steve.

a bloke named Bob Conway did mine about 10 years ago.he does it all freehand,you tell him what you want and he just does it.he does ( or used to) a lot of the big flash gear.real nice bloke too. i think he still lives in diamond creek.

im out ferntree gully way next week (ill also be visiting that "goma"? pizza shop at boronia for a feed ! .. any places where you can actually buy the stick on scrolls? just want to tart up the old jcr isuzu . . . havnt really seen any places around here in newcastle that make the scrolls

They tell me the bloke in Teesdale does a good job..
Hand lettering, computer cut vinyl... and 'stick on scrolls'
But hes NOT cheap! :'(

Who ever you get, make sure they use a 2 pack paint, if they just use enamel, it will look crap in about a year, when half it wash's off. The guys up here charged me about $600 to do the Road Boss including sign writing, about $500 for the Diamond including sign writing, and $200 to line and scroll a ute.
Kenny, some of the computer cut sign blokes can do them off a photo and be pretty reasonable.

cool its good to know ...so many trucks (particulary older trucks) have nice scrolls but ive never had a idea of where to get them from
