Atkinson was created by fageol100
BP Oil Company Atkinson-possibly a T746 model with 112 h.p. Gardner 6LW engine. The cab was built by Autolifts and Engineering Company of Blackburn, England. This firm's cabs were also fitted to some 1950s Albions.

Must be one for me. It has my initials on the trailer! :)

Having lived through a pandemic I now understand all the painting of fat people on couches!

Three more English fibreglass cab Kiwi Atkinsons.
Logger with 150 h.p. Gardner 6LX motor-would probably be something like a T2846X model.

Winstones Ltd. tipper with what Atkinson called the "Bodyline" cab with enclosed radiator. Notice the super single wheels on the tandem-would be someting like a S2066X model with 150 h.p. Gardner 6LX. There is a similar fibreglass cab Mk.1 Atkinson in the Richardson Museum in Invercargill, although it's got the traditional exposed radiator, and the two big windscreens. It's got a Gardner 6LX/150, early single countershaft Roadranger box, and tandem Kirkstall worm diffs.

Big stock unit of Attwood and Reid, Hastings, Hawkes Bay. Probably a model L2486C with Cummins NHK250.

Autolofts did build some steel cabs for Atkinson (Blackburn is only 10 miles from Preston), but I thought this was a Motor Panels cab?

I've never been able to find any comtermporary reference to the use of the term "Bodyline" for these cabs, which are the standard Mk.1 cab but with a concealed radiator. No-one at Atkinson whom I quizzed could tell me either!

In its day, it was snappily described as the "full front deluxe cab"!

I'm pretty sure this is an Autolifts cab, 240 Gardner, Peter Davies used a picture of a Mayne Nickless Atkinson with a cab, which I thought was the same as this, which he described as an Autolifts cab.

1955 BRS Guy Otter with Motor Panels cab-definitely a different cab to the one on the BP Atkinson.
