When Len Tuit got the Royal Mail contract after the war he purchased an ex-army Inter Ks5 semi used for carting troops between Alice and Birdum, opening a passenger and mail service, this prime mover was factory built without doors which may have put the idea into his head.

Waiting for the return mail from Darwin, after delivering to the train the bulk mail I waited 4 days for the return, about 5 bags, they didn't write much in Darwin, Tuit had sold his shares in the TTA and I used this Inter KS6 petrol motor until his new coach and trailer arrived, the prior picture is of Ernie Warner who grove the made up truck from "new" I off-sided with him for a year, great mate, photo is reversed.

Favouring the "no door" policy my brother (seated) decided to remove the entrance door of the bus, I don't think that was his intentsion, I was sitting this seat seconds before he took it out, seat and all, closest I have ever been to becoming history.

My Inter KB8 I was hauling carbon black from Melbourne to Sydney on the Hume, I had a door but no window, passing a semi on a narrow bridge going into Sydney just wide enough for two semi's, I would automatically lean over the steering wheel 'cos the mirror's would hit and glass would fly into the cabin, only small mirrors about 4 inches, can't imagine when the big mirrors came in.
