Towns Haulage

Does anybody know anything about Towns Haulage? Any info is appreciated.

They had depots in bunyip, tarralgon , eden and they shared a depot here in lansvale sydney in the 70's with a company i worked for .

Drivers i remember at that time - Des fowler , Cliff lansdowne , Big lance , Johnny painter who was killed in a roll over outside of cooma in one of the two s2 kennys , and a tall skinny fella who's name escapes me . We shared a shed with them when they were mansons and then dick brought them out and called it towns .

Gavin Towns who I believe is related runs trucks out of Nar Nar Goon in Vic

don't know any early stuff but do know was bought out by Bobbins and Abletts and then became known as South Coast Freighters, Not too long after bobbins bought out Abletts and is now all under the bobbins banner.

Cliff Lansdowne is still running two up Syd-Perth with his son for AirRoad

Cant remember his number but dick is based near dandenong i believe and trades as towns haulage
