Ok guys it looks like we have a few people looking to find the chassis number on Kenworth K100s ... For the record that is the basic model designation for the K123-K124-K125s.

I recently had the pleasure to look over one and got these photos.

This is the area to look in .... Behind the gearshift tower

And this is what it looks like

Yes I did Swishy .... You can see the last number has been changed.

Because I was allowed access through a mutual friend I was askedd to not reveal too much

It is a special one though ;)

In my years spent at the old KW workshop at Footscray and my couple of years at Bayswater, they also stamped the chassis number on the top flange of the bumper or bull-bar (drivers side). Theses won't be as accurate as the one stamped in the RHS chassis rail, but you will now if your jigger still has the original bumper/bull-bar.

Yes that is also a good place to look .... BUT as you said they got swapped about .... I know TNT reused a lot of bull bars on their K100s. But I was recently informed of another way to tell if your TNT K100 had a bull bar from new ....

.... You want to do the honours Detective ? ;)
