OK, so I had a look for the numbers. Easier than I thought - right there on a metal plate on the dash - Made in Basingstoke, England - Engine No. 121, Chassis Number 62018
It has a glass roof, metal doors and guards. Six cylinder diesel, complete and in going order.
So would I be near the mark if I named it Thornycroft Trusty, C. 1956??

You are looking for letter prefixes to both engine and chassis numbers which provide the type and model. The engine should have a brass plate on the left side. Some times there is a brass plate on the front axle beam with the model designation, ditto diff and gear box.
