I remember the trailer behind #116 the spread was quite large and trying to turn it in tight spots would have the 15inch tyres flexing the sidewalls pretty well.
Does it still have the alum hubs on the drive? I recall some of the wheel studs came loose in the hub once. Didn't know it had a 2 speed diff though.

I personally don't have a picture of it, however I have contacts at the Council Archives who send me a hoy when something interesting props up, usually because I can help them. I will ask the question. I have a lot of their pictures now, but they are always finding and scanning more. There may be something in the Tender documents they have. Now I have a year date will narrow down the search.

I thought it was an older truck than '77 as everything else in the Broom Section when I started in '78 most were petrol and pretty ancient, they still had the Federal doing low loader jobs.
Councils Works and Water Supply - Newmarket Rd Garage at Windsor in Brisso was where all the road going vehicle maintenance was done.
Did have a bit to do with #116 (can't remember her fleet number now, used to be able to.) The rodder pump (Hyd/Water Pressure pump) had to go to (Tony) A.D & K.M. Lane at Rocklea once, Bobs agent in Brisbane and later another time we got a new piston for the pump cast and machined up in the Garage. Probably the worst part of it was the 460 Ford V8.
The only drama with the PM was the rear wheel studs as mentioned, thought they were alloy hubs.

She certainly handled like a racecar when Bobtail.

Went and got a real job with Mack and Volvo for a while.
Didn't have a lot to do with the Mega Combi, but I came back to Council to retire in the Bus side of things when it also arrived back from Licktinstein. I went back to Works Dept doing Emissions Testing when it got Auctioned to someone on the Gold Coast. There was also a photo of it bogged to the hilt doing the rounds, getting helped out by the low loaders winch. May be the other guy doing Emissions testing with me, his photo of the bog job, will have to ask. He was sent out from the Workshop to assist in its extraction.
Do you have its build number?
