Some Scammells

The Pioneer and Explorer have three point suspension ,where the bogie is like a Cat 12 grader drive,one differential driving all four wheels through gearcases.........this is the reason for the very high clearance of the body at the back......both blue trucks have conventional spring suspension,and wont "Go Anywhere" like the 3 point suspension............One Scammel I saw in bits had big wishbones locating the axles ,and the rear axles were held to the springs by wire rope loops.

You Poms are tough. Everybody else has springs. How often do you have to change the blokes on the suspension. Running costs must be greater also with a driver and four suspension men on every truck.
