I've done that too Steve, B61, speedo needle flicking the dogs tail, and that bloody quiet after about 70 it was dam scarey.

i done the angle gear trick in a neuss powered acco ...man i ended up with a pancake in my undies ... my speedo never did work in that thing ..but this time i think it would of hit 100mph ..i was fully loaded and thank goodness i was able to use both lanes of the road (Golden highway around 1am)even just touching the brakes as light as a feather brought on a terrible shudder... so i had to "ride the speed out" that was almost one time to many :o

Hullo Detective

Fair go that was 45 odd years ago. The truck was green and white from memory. Can't remember the blokes name if I ever knew it. He said the diffs had been replaced and it now did only 68 mph.

I think you got things mixed in my first post. The in gear speed was 88MPH. The float speed was 71 MPH. Nothing floats much over 70 MPH it just seems like 100MPH. :D

thanks Hi Beam....i think i should go back to my old physics lessons ;D :o

one bloke i spoke with had a 4X2 cabover sleeper and told me how it had an ''infinite'' diff ratio ;D ;D and would just keep winding out :o :o :o....cheers

I reckon that picture could be 'Rovers Return'
'Bimbos' was a Mobil further south..

Feel free to correct me on this as i am NOT a Hume Highway expert..
