I thought you guys may like these photos of a Dodge tipper. Yes, a real tipper in Wellsford New Zealand early 1960s. Truck hit a soft wet patch in the clay track while spreading lime rock base.
Farm races and roads were spread with a lime rock base to cover the clay farm access tracks.
No diggers back then to put trucks back on their feet. They used wire strops attached to other trucks.
Look like twin GMC spreaders giving a tow upright?
Back up on its feet. Top twin rams look a little worse for wear but went on to work for a few more years like that.

Great photos Scorpion, the old Dodge didn't look like it was too badly damaged. Was it one of Yelavich Bros. trucks?-Hamish Petrie

Hi Hamish, It was one of my old mans trucks from Mason and Porter Carriers out of Wellsford. The family had five trucks, mostly Dodge and Leylands. They were Laurie Shines GMC's fertiliser spreaders. Accident happened on Ray Morgans farm. I am keen to locate any of these old LAD cabbed trucks for sale still around in NZ. Cheers Colin

In New Zealand LAD or 300 series Dodges were available with Leyland O.350, O.375 and O.370 Power Plus diesels and AEC AV410 and AV470 diesels. We didn't have the option of petrol V8s but I think there were a few 6 ton cabovers sold here with the old Dodge 250 cubic inch petrol flathead 6. There were a few bogie drive T310 models here with the AEC 470/143 horsepower motor, 5 speed box and tandem 2 speed Eatons on Hendrickson RT type suspension.-Hamish Petrie

Actually Elgindale, those old trucks could handle much steeper cambers - they were real sturdy, great for farm and off road work. Looks like wet ground underneath the truck. Rain making the clay unstable normally wouldn't cause any problem. Unusually high rainfall or hardground preventing drainage? Something unusual to cause it to tip over.
