....just a little thing that should be told and is probably not all that well known, is that these mighty big banger shows have been around a long, long time...going back at least in my memory to the Wandong country festival in around 1975, right up to the last Penshurst truck show in 1992 and all the fantastic Castlemaine truck shows along the way....

...the big banger boys just keep doing what they've always done...with bugger all fanfare and a whole heap of passion about their industry .....the ''convoy for kids'' would have to be the pinnacle of the trucking industry's love for what they do....i tip my hat...

...yeah geoff it's a worthwhile topic to start i reckon...

...even the old Union Steel Peterbilt made an appearance at Wandong all those years ago....in another life and in a white paint job with the Confederate flag painted across the back of the cab!

....also, i'm pretty sure Truckin' Life started around the same time that these highway banger truck shows started to flourish....cheers mate


...PS .. a quick google search and the Wandong Country and Western Music Festival kicked off in 1972 with 1800 people attending, and by 1978 the Wandong Truck and Country music Festival had entertained a crowd of 30,000!
