I have a S model question
Close enough to the right spot to ask I reckon
What was the first S models to come with factory sleepers ?
Or did any come with them ?

RE: What was the first S models to come with factory sleepers
Az far az eye kno KW din have sleepers for the 'S' model
KW 'S' model had a 90"( 2.28m) BBC there was no room for sleepers with a strict length law way back wen (early to mid 60'z)
probly the overall length twaz 45' -47' (13.7m) barely the length of a 40' 12m container
the 1st KW with a sleeper twaz a COE (Cab over Engine)
Mack cooda had the game skun if they imported the short B model to Australia (89" BBC 2.26m
but mack were more interested in roadtrain trucks where length din really matter

Thats what I would have thought Swishman but
On Faceless book yesterday there were two full imported S models with factory fitted sleepers that operated out of Derby WA
www.facebook.com/groups/447043995149/per...k/10162923991360150/
CIickty click above if you wana have a ganda
Two of these jiggers were imported I believe it read together
Apparently sitting on the dock
If this is true and I have reason to suspect other wise I reckon these would be the oldest KW sleeper cans on a conventional in this wide brown land
Happy to be corrected
What sez you Swishman ?
Paul

Does anyone know how many of these S models are left in this wide brown land?
And of the ones that are no longer with us do people know what happened to them
Apparently all the Aussie delivered Peterbilts are accounted for, is this the same for the S models ?

Even though it was a relatively old post, still made for good reading. I, for one didn't realise that those original S trucks a la Ansett era, were predominately geared with the Spicer 12 speeds, the synchro masters. Few of them were twin stickers, didn't see one bushranger on the list. Good to see that so many of them can still be accounted for.

Just when you thought you knew it all someone proves you wrong! Never knew, never seen, does anyone know where these treasures are?
