I have got a spare can for ya. One cold morning many years ago, my Uncle had parked the old Telford & Hood Knocker out the front of home, she would not start, no ether, so they dipped a rag in the diesel tank, pulled back the air intake & put the flaming rag in front of it. I remember watching in horror as they wound her over until she fired .
Perhaps the big Cummins might suck the rag in & :-[ Not good idea perhaps.

Remember the same being done to start the Deutz in the Clipper I'd bought in Hobart many years ago. Luckily I didn't need to repeat the process in the ferry when we got to Melbourne!

I remmenber using the erostart on my 466 in the Bedford arfter changing the fuel filters and she sure knocked but it worked . Dave
