Two of my fathers uncles made fortunes in NG gold in the 1930s.....seen lots of pictures of small bulldozers etc flown to the site in pieces and reassembled.........One of the uncles owned a mansion at Hamilton above the river .....cousin Frank ended up selling it to Christopher Skase ,who demolished it to build his mansion there .....shortly before he shot thru to Spain........the place was crammed with PNG native artefacts ,which my old man termed "blackfella rubbish"......be worth a mint today.
