I can set it on the move, it's just difficult to set it up, mount and cable and everything while on the move!I have a Garmin, you can set it on the move. You must have chosen the wrong options in settings somewhere. I can also talk to mine. No need to touch the screen. Just say " voice command"

The later Garmins, mine is LT2460, just clip into the holder. ( the power lead is attached to the holder).

I still rely on my memory and internal compass most of the time.
My brother swears by his Hema I think it is, but he does a lot of 4WD/quad bike riding and it records his travel so he can find his way back.
