Making a small effort to save the history of road transport in Australia by being in front of Simms

Gentlemen
Please correct me but my understanding is .........
9.50 metres pin to centre of axle group
3.70 metres centre of axle group to rear of trailer
1.90 metres from pin to outside edge of trailer
compiling with the above requirements you can achieve a 14.64 metre deck.
Problem is the trailer will have a front dimension from the pin of 1.34 metres
Just my humble opinion.

Rex if My maths is Correct (& I'm happy to be corrected) if your king pin has a swing clearance of 1.9 Metres & your trailer is 2.5 Metres wide.
The kingpin will be 1.44 Metres from the front of the Trailer...

Either way, I think I've got a good handle on 48' trailer dimensional limitations!

This is battle of the mathematicians! I make actually make it 1431 to the nearest mm...hayseed wrote:

You're probably correct, as I did It the lazy way,& just measured a Trailer.
But It has the Corners recessed (points cut off) so you can have the Pin set a bit deeper & still maintain the 1900mm swing Clearance.....
