Dangerous level crossings

More

I think in the past the railways have just felt they had legal right of way at a crossing, end of story. However there have been some cases over here where charges of dangerous driving have been bought against the truck driver and failed.
If the crossing is clearly sub standard or subject to regular near misses, the trains should at least be slowed down until improvements can be made.

Here in over governed Vic the rules n laws R plain

the Rd stops B 4 the rail line n continues on from the other side of rail
th@ way the rail is uninterupted n the Rd stops, starts @ rail line

Dont proceed to cross rail line unless there is room on the other side of rail line for U to fully clear the path of a train

Stop B 4 or after a rail line but never stop on a rail line
(th@'s just when U likely to brake axle, drop tailshaft or blo an air line)
any altercations with a train or there equipment = U're @ fault..Unless U got plenty of money to go fight m in court

U jokers R jist lucky U aint go no Trams to deal with also

Was there a rule years ago that passenger buses had to actually stop at rail crossings before proceeding? I remember seeing them do this on open roads out in the country but they don't do it anymore.

Yep
U got th @in one

all passenger busses had to stop @ closest rail open door lookeee here n lookee there B 4 proceed n to cross

@ one stage me thinks they also started to duplictae the rds @ level crossings so the busses could pull over to left to stop without interupting the flo of traffic
may B also included tankers

Ona side note
U got any ol CNC u dont want or needs a good home, will offer sum TLC for me new plasma cutter

G'day Swishy,
Sorry I don't have any spare CNC bits, what are you going to be punching out with the plasma cutter? Chromed Beamish mudflap weights?! I'd buy a set!

Glad you pointed out where that crossing was, Roland. Wouldn't have picked it otherwise.

Gday AW and Cam

Andy
Yes its not very clear is it, its only a few trains a week, but I saw quite a few in my years living down there.

Cam
Yes I recognise the cab roof and door, but its difficult to tell what model without more visible.

Thanks for your answers.

Cheers
RS :)

Very well Swishy, but how can you do that at the Lardners track crossing, when there is a stop sign and a busy road about 10 yards beyond the crossing. . The railways have put one line under the bridge but not left enough room for the other.

Long time not chat
But I have been keeping an eye on you making sure u dont bag us volvo drivers to much
So I c u r afta a cnc mashene
how much mulla u wanna spend ???????
I first had the electric eye tracer which was the ants pants just draw a pic on a piece of paper and let it cut the shape great for doing parts just had to tarce them mine had plasma and oxy cutting up to 4 inch plate
then I built the cnc machine now i spend more time doing puter programs than swinging a hammer
cost me aroung $3,000 with all the software which was more than the machine only run the plasma on the cnc as i have another propile cutterr for oxy when i figure out where to put it good excuse to =stretch the shed

Plasma cutters r good but can also be a real pain in the u no what
but u will learn what u can and cant do with it
