Lindsay's masterstroke was probably the cost plus contracts he got in place with Coles-Myer and others. Guaranteed profit.
Recall it came under a bit scrutiny a few years back when his mate Solomon Lew was chairman of the Coles-Myer group. Doesn't appear to have slowed things down much though.

idstbc but i think (and read somewhere) that cost plus started when the exigencies of world war two dictated that a firm supplying to the war effort could only make profit of cost , plus about ten percent...so the notion goes back quite a way.
