Still have to move Chester Ansaldo dozer for him. Believe they Tare about 20 - 22 ton each = 3.5m wide blade

Found some time to get to work on the ansaldo,have removed most of the added steel frame, need to change the blade lift mechanism, then will clean up the front.
I am in the process of removing the gearbox to repair the clutch. I may not be able to reach the bottom few bell housing to flywheel housing bolts, so may need to lift the engine and gearbox out as a unit, will hopefully see tomorrow.

There was not enough room to slide the gearbox back far enough, the bottom of the bell housing was fouling on the hull of the tractor, so everything had to come out. The clutch plate had lost one facing, so it is in Sydney being re-faced.

Interesting thread....what h.p. does the Ansaldo put out?. We used to pull those little 6-8yd LT's with D6B's..and they used all their 93h.p. and sometimes more would have been good!. Nice pics.

The Alfa engine in the Ansaldo is claimed to be 70hp.

LeTournea said the Model M was suited for tractors from 50 to80 drawbar hp.

I have been a bit slack, have the new clutch plate but haven't put it back together yet.

At least I now know that if I go to register the Ansaldo, it was listed in the RTA books.
