Lang, yes interesting to hear about the track rubbers here in Oz. When you get the time it would be good to get the contact name from Macksville.

stevejr, well good news is got her to run but really blowing a lot of smoke. Ran her until plenty of heat into the motor but still spewing smoke badly. Thought might be able to get the rings unstuck as lots of gumming up in the cylinder (borrowed a mates boroscope) & rings were seized in the ring grooves. To cut to the chase looks like the head will becoming off etc so i can hopefully just give her a cleanup light hone new rings & bearings & then get her going again. Worst case scenario still not too bad as it's only a single cylinder so not as hard to work on as my old Farmalls & Fordson it's a lot lower to the ground :D

The Sturmey Archer engine was only in the MG2
The MG5s and MG6s had Ransomes own 600 cc engine

Steve Contact agrimanuals.com They have the engine manual for the 600cc you need.
I got one from them very good. It' a reprint of the original (30 pages) has all the spec's , schematics for engine, carb, fuel pump, maggy, etc.

stevejr, thanks mate got straight onto agrimanuals & ordered one. I have been surfing the net looking for this manual & had no luck until you steered me onto the right people. Thanks again cant wait to get it & have a read. From the looks of my engine they were built pretty sturdy obviously so they would last a fair working life.
Cheers Steve :)
