This is not important, but I would like to know more of what the cables do - only for my curiosity.

Yea hi there Tony the cables attch to two rams under neath cab which turn backhoe left to right . But iam still in the dark . Hope this helps u can send pic if u like cheers Blacky.

ACE also made a backender crane with slewing by wire rope around a drum.....The Chamberlain probably had a Meadows diesel engine first,no spares ,so replaced by the Perk from a Mk11 at some stage.

Thanks John yea this has the perkins in it .. i have worked it out now how the rope on the drum works thanks every one for there posts .Cheers Blacky .. but any more tips always open
