Tractor collector Ron Dehne's interest in the Ford began when he was a teenager working his first job at a regional Victorian dealership in 1963.

"Being the kid of the place, my role was to drive all the display models out onto the nature strip every morning and drive them back in at night," he said.

Now in his 70s, Mr Dehne has amassed more than 120 Ford tractors in a private vintage machinery collection that's one of the largest in the world.

I have called in and seen him a few years ago, John and his wife were really easy to talk to and get along with

I dunno if he was planning to open his collection up to the public then or not

He had Chamberlain tractors

There was Ford implements there as well as tractors

Very impressive collection of lots of cool stuff

Judging the way the tractors are laid out with labels attached, I reckon they are set up for public display.

When I called in they weren't like that

I got the impression that it was a hobby then, I think most of us know that feeling

And like any man and with a very understanding wife collections of treasures can grow

When I first noticed something was going on it was just the one shed but I have noticed as I drive past the shed space has grown as well

Good luck to him, a bloke abd his wife that I found really easy to talk to

He had more than just Ford there when I called in

I had no idea Ford had so many models sold in Australia.

I thought Ford tractors weren't common, obviously wrong.
