G'day all,
I went to look at some tractors Sunday and found some other interesting things. The bloke is looking to sell over the next few months as they plan to move. Here's a few pic's

Case L X 2; could make one good one at least. Radiator in one looks very good. (my new one cost $900) Also has good spare guards, fuel tank, steel front wheels and other bits.

John Deere D sold for parts.

McCormick Deering 15-30 X 2 It is mostly all there but a bit of a challenge.

Massey Harris 102 SS Been kept inside and quite tidy though panels are a bit lumpy and an average paint job.
Does SS mean Super Speed, Super Slow or something else?

Farmall A X 2 They both looked OK.

Case VA (now in my toy box) Similar in size and use to the Farmall A. Surprisingly, it does not have eagle hitch (Case's version of 3 PL) Needs radiator work but I hope that's all!

Olsmobile truck

In conversation he also mentioned he had a collection of blacksmithing equipment also for sale, so we had to have a look. He said some of it is a bit rare, such as a gismo which clamps to a wagon hub and turns out the centre to fit the steel sleeve. Also has a treadle lathe and the biggest anvil I've seen, complete with its own cast iron base.

Gday Tacho,
That massey is a 102 Super Senior. The Senior had a 6 cyl continental, whilst the 102 J or Junior had a 4 cyl continental motor
Hope that helps,
Slim

massey made a
102 junior 4cyl engine
102 senior 6 cyl engine
massey harris came up with a adjustment in the governor system via a cable to allow the govenor to work effeciently at low revs and high revs, they called this idea TWIN POWER....
i have a 44k tractor and a 44KS , but have nerver seen any with SS on the tag

Gday Melon,
Have to correct you buddy bout the twin power. There's 2 sets of teeth on the linkage controled throttle quadrant, the first set is for 1650 rpm, for ploughing ect, and the second set lets you take the throttle up to about 1800 or there bouts, ONLY for belt work. It was just a marketing ploy.
My old man's into Masseys, got a 102J, 44K, 55K, 744 , 744PD and 745.
Cheer's mate,
Slim

G'day fella's,
I have just spoken to the owner and he said the John Deere D, both Case L's and both McCormick Deering's are sold.
Intermission, I replied to your PM but it came up as an error, so if it didn't get through can you please try again.
