sulky axle for sale. was created by tonym
Picked up a rusty Sulky axle a few weeks ago. Had plans for it ( Anvil/ bearing press), but no time to put it to use.
Reasonable condition it could be cleaned up, machined and put back to us as a sulky.
I have it for sale, but it weighs a tonne so freight is a problem for I/S buyers. Photos by request.

A Sulky axle, is a steel axle from a horse drawn 'cart'.
Square or rectangular section with round ends for the wheel assembly.

Ol mate suggesting it could be used for an anvil, kinda tells me it could be from a dray or similar...
I am only assuming from a scrap cutters point of view though..

Probably not really a bedford accessory...but anything is possible..

chocs 8-)

I am trying to post photos of the axle. It is semi square( tapered in the centre). With round tapered ends for the wheels. My suggestion for an anvil, I was going to cut it up and weld it together to form an anvil. If anyone has a use for it I am happy to donate it to a good cause. I had another look at it this morning. Rust is an issue but as I said could be machined and re used. I live on the nsw far North coast, so delivery is difficult. Thanks guys and gals.

Ah, well, a Sulky.
