It's going to be a good thing!
Now, while you have it on its back, I'm serious about checking under the dash around the vents. Have a real good poke around with a screwdriver. Make sure it's all rock solid. Finding the pinholes now will will pay dividends later. Annoying incurable leaks are the other option.
With luck, there's none to be found. Also, IIRC, there are some drain holes at the outer ends. This is the bit that fills up with mud and rusts out between the bonnet and doors. Now is the time to deal with it permanently.

Keep up the good work, Jarrod.

Bryant,
Could'nt agree more with Jarrod. Poke away with a screwdriver as much as possible. You will be amazed how many pin holes you can find. From little things big things grow. Also check the panel around the interior light, it seems to rust from the inside out.

Jarrod and Mac thanks for the advice and the pictures I've had a real good poke around with a screw driver and had a bit of a look inside the plenum chamber and it's still very solid and rust free the cab came from out west nsw and had never lived by the coast . I will be flooding it out with fish oil when it's painted so hopefully it should last a few more years . Mac you have done a fantastic job with your resto well done :) cheers Bryant

That's good, Bryant. Just make sure the drains are clear. Can't remember what they look like at the moment, might be just a gap, or what.

Cheers, Jarrod.

You've done well. I'd flood that plenum with whatever sealant/rustproofer you can so it stays like that.

Best basis for a good resto, a cab like that one.

Cheers.

While I'm waiting for some workshop space at a mates shed so I can strip and paint the cab I've started to strip the doors and get them ready for etch prime and high fill the passenger door is good to go and the drivers door was in need of some small rust repairs to the underside it took me ages to remove the petrified quarter vent rubbers ;D cheers Bryant
