The code "F101C" at the start of the chassis number may pertain to its wheelbase, and is an earlier build to Urchy's rocket. Urchy's tag was F61C, so may've been for a short wheelbase semi when first configured ??. Beyond that it could be to do with its carrying capacity.

...just a late edit .. The F101C is a 162" wheelbase and the F64 is the parrot nose model. Pretty sure the F61C will be that earlier model on a shorter wheelbase.

Hi, I know its been 11+ years since you posted this, and while researching this particular model Kew Fargo, your HCVC post appeared. The image that came up (a very smart restored yellow one) did not. I was a feature writer for VTCM until it folded, now writing for HVMA and writing an article on the Beeac Victoria Windmills. Here I also found some great photos of trucks used in the district long ago that included a model F101 Fargo.
It has taken me some time to find out what this truck was, but persistence pays off.
My request is, can I have you permission to use the picture in your 'British Fargo" forum message? I will include your name and permission to use in the caption. I have attached a copy of the subject photo.
If this is OK with you, could you let me know via an email to
(email address removed and posted separately to Urchy)
Warm regards,
Paul Tol

This English built 2 -6 ton range was introduced in 1937 and ended in 1949 with the introduction of the Briggs cab. Not many pics of them in service. The yellow one looks a bit odd due to the larger than standard tyres.
I would be guessing model numbers related to weight rating in cwts.
