Thanks Pierre I'll give that a go.
I'm having the truck moved from the farm to the city in a few weeks so it'all be closer at hand.
I couldn't find a date or code on any glass window on the truck.
Anywhere else I can look for a date.

Spudda, if you have the engine number (located on R/H side of Engine block) we can find the year of manufacture.
All the glass should have an etching, usually down in the bottom corners.
cheers

Quite often electrical components have a date of manufacture on them.
I know Lucas did up until the late 70's after which I have no idea.
I always looked at wiper motors as they were less likely to be replaced.
Could be worth a try.

This may be way off the mark, But my body number is 4616 and the beddy guru from ACW recons it was 1947/48 and the glass dated as 49"
Yours may be earlier....

Had a good look over the truck today and can't find anything to really get a date off.
Windows don't have any dates, and could find anything on electrical parts. A lot of the wiring has been replaced at some time and with a small gauge wire as a lot of it has melted.
Window wiper motor worked on the plus side.

Spudda, the glass won't have dates on it as such. They are coded in a circular etching on each piece near one of the corners. There's information on this restoration site just recently on on how to decipher these codes. I'd be very surprised if every piece of glass has been replaced with new cut glass. But you never know!

From the number on the ID plate the colour is 253-15775 Forester Green, is there an Id plate in the LH door opening most Holdens and Chev and GMC trucks with Aussie bodies had one there should tell you where it was assembled and engine number and body number, there's a 5 on the ID plate most likely assembled in May
