I think it was just a marketing slogan relating to good visibility from the cab, but I do stand to be ..... etc.
Steering column is under the dash see www.flickr.com/photos/46046969@N03/4915939128/
and the steering box is set back behind the axle. I dont have a photo but will get one and those numbers at the weekend.

Dave.. My old ute has no sissy bits either, But thats gotta change , because my body seams to be falling apart quicker than the AB. But i am older, does that count ??...Pete, the old smiths round style heater with the 2 doors on the front work a treat on the firewall..

Keep old inters alive.

Yer the pilot house thing was a marketing thing back in the day. With the steering column under the dash and the box behind the axle is Canada made truck and they were put together here. I think it would have had the 218ci engine to start with. Also these early trucks have 5 stud wheels where the aussie built trucks have 6 stud wheels and the 251 engine. But sayin that it seams some early aussie built trucks used the 218ci and gearbox with the bellhousing to suit left hand drive brake master cylinder bolted to it. There will be a hole not used on the left side with this bellhousing. Aussie trucks bolted the master cylinder to the inside of the right hand chassis rail.

Will be going for one of those Smiths heaters for sure AB, plenty of room under the dash for it. I think it is a 250 engine but has 5 stud wheels (stamped Kelsey of Canada) Mater cylinder is on RH chassis rail and a spare hole in the bellhousing on LH side.

Real movie makers dont stop for a bit of rain Swishy. JB has a fancy camera mount that clamped to the running rail and a suction cap that sticks on to the glass. We are thinking of a TV series along the lines of Ice Road Truckers, just need a script and a stunning blonde!
