Fitting a steel floor

With a rubber-tracked Posi-Track, you have no real problems with floor or ramp damage. The ground pressure on Posi-Tracks is very light, being spread over a wide area, and the rubber tracks are easy on floors.

The only problem area that might develop, is, if you drop the bucket heavily on the floor.

2.8mm checkerplate is quite adequate, if properly supported as indicated, by runners under the floor sheeting.

My middle nephew runs a big fleet, and amongst that fleet is a couple of these .. RC-60's that weigh a bit over 2.8 tonnes.

He carries them on a couple of these .. Pommy, Ifor Williams flat-top trailers. These trailers are built out of 3mm galvanised sheet and pressings .. and they have a PLYWOOD floor coated with an epoxy resin.

He pulls the RC-60's and trailers behind his Landcruisers and has no problems with any damage, either to the floor, or to any ramps.

The Ifor Williams trailer is rated at 3500kg GVM, which is what the Landcruisers and a number of 4WD's are rated to tow.

Thats an ASV, posi-track pt 100,[thought you blokes knew about machinery], They weigh 5,7 ton, with a bucket, let alone that attachment, plus he wants to carry a ton of water, aswell as ramps, Better have a re: think fellas, Duno, about the 2.8 tread plate either, 4mm is the industry standard now, but dont take my word, big cam, makes tilts he will tell ya, iam only a lowly engineer , just cause it has L.G.P [Low ground pressue] make no mistake, its still over 5T, just ask the scailies when they pull you over to weigh ya :)

Ground pressure @ operating weight: 4.37 psi / 30.1 kPa

That's the bit that counts ;)

I for one do not claim to know much about ALL machinery.
However, I have carted enough tractors, backhoes, bobcats etc around to get a fair idea of what works.

just put the thin checker plate over a timber floor

.... and that'd work

I'd have to suggest that "Industry standard" is set to cover butts to allow for people using excessive enthusiasm when loading ;)

Be it firearms or V8 engines, the question is not "why should you have them?"
, but "who are you to demand that I justify them?"

5.7 ton is 5.7 ton, regardless of ground pressure, its the supported "dead weight" that matters , and that my friend is the bit that counts ;)

5.7 tonnes on 4 x 50x50mm square pads will punch through a lighter floor, but spread over the footprint that machine has is completely different cup o'tea.
