Chassis number needed
I'm involved in the restoration of a "Grey Ghost" and to make it a little easier to drive we are fitting powersteering, I have most of the parts, however I need a chassis number of a KW with Power assist steering from late 70's as the grey ghost never had P'steer.
as to the grey Ghost
It still has some the grey paint on the chassis showing and after its grey ghosts days it went to TNT alltrans before TAFE purchsed it in 1981 as a apprentice mechanics training unit,a job it has done for the last 28 years.( it is still owned by TAFE) It has all orginal running gear including engine.

RE: "Grey Ghost"
AKA Silver bullitt
U dont need no power steering
as power steerin iz 4 sissy'z
to make steerin easy on any truck with out power steering or assist
Jack up front axle to get sum daylight under m so the wheeels will turn freely
turn steering full lock
grease king pin s top n bottom
{might as well grease all the rest of the steering while u're @ it)
turn on opposite lock
grease king pin s top n bottom
turn sterring to straight
n lower gently to the ground
n it duz make ahuge difference in the steering
1971 The first "Australian-made" Kenworth - a K125CR is built and delivered. Introduction of W900 and W900S2.
A major milestone was achieved on 2 March 1971 when the first Australian-built Kenworth - a cab-over K125CR - rolled off the production line. That moment marked the transition from merely assembling trucks to building one entirely from component parts.
For memory the 1st Oz built KW'z started with #400000

Hi Muzza why do you want another chassis number, the number you have dosen't make any difference for rego or RWC.
I needed the chassis number so I can get parts from kenworth, I have found one and ordered the last part I need to add the Garrsion power assist cylinders.
Thanks
