unusual for a petrol v8 dodge to have a external air cleaner . . looks more like a cummins powered dodge

i wish I could have it as well, but on with my current build, (AT4 660) almost have the 440ci stripped and ready to go off the the machine shop, even tempted to put a stroker crank in it and make it a 530ci, then out with the 318 and in with the BB

what gearbox are you going to use behind the 440 ?

Hi Ken, I have the NP 5sp which was IE for the truck and will stick with that bolted to a 361 Bellhousing, as much as I would like to I won't be going for a 530 stroker, no need in my mind the 440 will have barrel loads of torque and with the 20 inch spider will sit the truck on 110 if need be. Happy to take advise though, and for the purists I will be crating up the 318 and keeping it as the truck is matching numbers so I want the option to return it to original in the future.

the commer/dodge box that came with the 361 powered trucks is stronger .. from memory you just need a large truck 318 flywheel (that you already have) because the 440 should be a 6 bolt flywheel. . whereas the 361 flywheel is a 8 bolt . . but if a 361 bellhousing bolts up to your np540 gearbox im sure it will work just as well
