Hardtopman,is that a falcon hardtop?, re the old D3f,i have nothing against people trying to make a little bit of profit on something,or trying to get their money back (thats what its all about after all) you and i probably know that go to a wrecker and he will want 2or 3 grand for a running 6.354 Perkins,but we can pickup a complete truck out of the Quokka/trading post etc for $1000 or so,so if they have over capitalised on a rebuild or something then thats tuff luck,i just feel sorry for the poor old truck that in the meantime keeps on deteriating.I say we should form a society for the prevention of cruelty to old trucks

good one,i had 1 the same colour and everything but it was a major resto so i never got it on road,funny older guys call Falcons and chrysler coupes hardtops(mainly cos thats how manufactures listed them) especially as yours is a hardtop as opposed to the Charger ,all the young guys just call em coupes.my son has a xa coupe part way restored, the other has a big job to do on a lx Torana hatchback but last talk was of floggin it,i have XA sedan ,oval beetle,90 camaro lhd unlic (for sale!).nice to see all these old school things still gettin around

Hardtop = wind down rear glass
Coupe = fixed rear glass
Both with no center pillar or top door frames
2 door Torana/Escort and late model Monaro/ Jap/European 2 doors are all 2 door sedans as they have cener pillar and door frame around glass.
I remember some guy tellin me my car was a coupe and was made in America, when i showed him the id plate with Hardtop on it clear as and made in Australia on it after a brief pause he said some one must have changed the plate. Can't argue with a fool i guess????
