As long as ya don't swap ptos off od boxes to direct boxes.. and vis versa..
Yes, i know they will fit and they will work..
For tipper work, particularly truck and dog, you may get away with it..
Crane applications require a bit more matching.
Depending on the brand of pto, it will be cheaper to ring the man and buy the correct unit.
They make em different for a reason..if you fit a unit that is 'slow', you'll waste cash every time the hoist goes up...if the unit is too 'quick' it will not pump efficiently and may end in tears...
Get the model of the gearbox, the engine rpm at idle. the requirement of you hydraulic gadget (or the type and model number) and ring the man.
May be as simple as a gear swap to avoid a nightmare..
Been there and done a fair bit of this over the years...as well.....and yes i've done it without any cash to spare!
You are on the right track Browny....

Rang the man Chocs, he sounds like the sort of bloke who if u asked the time u would have 2 wait half an hour while he built u a watch. any way he recons it will fit but was sus on the gear ratios . He's guna look up the numbers and read his tea leaves or sumthin and get back to me. He also informs me he can supply a PTO, Pump, control valve, in cab controls and hose kit 4 about $1900 + Johny tax. Of course fiting costs the same but i've got to get the old ones off (rolling round in the dirt, grease oil ect ) AS much as I like cool old stuf I REALY like shiney new stuf recon new might b the go

While in the big smoke I went round to paccar to C wat I could find out about the ol girl. Very helpful chap sat me down in front of a microfilm machine and found the front page of the build order. So now lots more questions.

G,Day Farmer,
Do you have any photos , of your rig and what are you asking for it.
Just asking for other members who are interested.

theres a couple of fairly curent pics back on this thred. The 1 with the tarped load was taken in March.I should have posted it on the thred with the old trucks still at work. 40ft spred axel strap trailer with a wooden floor and if ya look real close ya can see rockasano printed on the tarp.
I plan to give her a good tub up and get some more detailed pics then put her up on the web for 10k inc. I just havent had time to scrach myself. I,ll see how that goes but if some one turns up with 6 or 7 folding stuff they wouldnt have to twist me arm to hard.
