Thank you oliver1950, that now makes sense why there's a cap on the rocker cover.
I would be very appreciative of the relevant information from your books.
I can post the books to you and you can copy them and then return them.

That's a great piece of agriculture history there KMR XT5, I'm glad it's been rescued, will need a comfy seat!
As suggested dropping the sump & giving it a good clean out is the way to go.
Good luck with the project, will watch with interest. :)
cheers
Pierre
Yep, dropping the sump is a must. If you need a new gasket and cannot buy one sheet cork is easy to find on eBay. It is a lot cheaper than an engine rebuild.

Yes, good point, I had planned on giving it an oil change, fortunately there are 2 large round plates on the left side of the block that when removed expose the crank and rods, I think I can get my hand in there and feel around for sludge etc.
Picture of rocker gear shows it to be nice and clean, I do suspect the head has been off at some stage.
I'm trying to trace the tractors history, it's a very strange one being in such remarkable condition for its age.
I presume you know that those 2 large round plates are to adjust the big end bearings by removing shims and that the top end is lubricated by those wicks via oil you put in through the filler on the rocker cover, I am only pointing this out as that while it is nice and clean I can't see any evidence of oil in that reservoir. I have a McCormick 10-20 tractor with the same motor.

KMR, you know you only make us envious of what you collected.... I like your working clothes resto, keeping it real.

Hello group,
we are going to do a 'working clothes' restoration only, and based on the recent start up and operation of the tractor it would appear it may only need a tune up, all oils changed and necessary adjustments carried out.

Cheers Jason

Mate That's a real Time capsule I agree with what you suggest ...!!

Greetings. Reckon whoever wrote the blag about the KMR never sat in one or drove one. Comfort ?? Serviceability ?? You just try changing the seal rings [prone to leaking] on the cross over fuel line at the front of the cylinder heads. Mongrel bloody job through the hatch under the pax seat. If any major engine work was to be carried out we took the cab off remembering to clamp the steering box together when the steering arm was removed. Then you had serviceability. Thanks for posting Paul

Greetings. Mrsmack- I used to go with Rob Henderson in his blue M A N on page 88 so I did favour taking photos of M A N trucks. The M A N at the start of page 89 was a D J Walker, then there is a Cameron Kenworth taken around Goulburn somewhere as was the East Coast what looks to be like a day cab Road Commander- didn't see a lot of day cab Road Commanders. The White 7564 was a Frank Marchetti, the Atkinson with the water bag belonged to Shell, next Atkinson was Golding Industries- they used to cart cement out of Angaston. The W model Kenworth was Portland Cement and yes the Mac Fies Kenworth was the 12V71 jobbie. The KMR XT5 Bedford was John Collins would you believe- had that around the same time as the day cab 4 x 2 Kenworth- both powered with bird scarers'. He's come a long way since running 4 x 2 lorries. Changed his colors as well. The Atkinsons were taken through the windshield of a Mark 1 Cortina- the benefit of taking photos of the truck photos with my phone camera is that I can 'blow up' the photo and cut out the car bonnet or the stone guard on Rob's truck. Resolution doesn't improve though. It's pleasing that these photos cause comment about the era- like having a water bag mounted on the bumper- Dad used to have one one the family Fc and his Highways Dept work ute. Next week for more history.

Greetings. Bit of a blast from the past- I reckon I took these in '72 or '73. The W model was Copper City Transport, a Bunker Acco, Roper's Haulage M A N 14215FCS, Robinvale Sydney Transport Group No 14 taken at the Caltex in Pooraka and it's a possibility that the KMR XT5 is John Collins' and then there is Rocci Cricelli's 1418LS taken at Naranderra. Makes a bloke wish he had a better camera then and could afford color film. Reckon I'll stick with the Instamatics for the next lot as well- nearly 50 years ago I seem to have been more interested in getting photos of trucks than paying attention to girls. Next time.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationDave

It is an in-line unit that boosts your normal pressure. It is not the type that has a connection to the master cylinder.

Here is a simple explanation.
techtalk.mpbrakes.com/boosters/remote-mo...sters-vacuum-booster

This is what I have put in 4 vehicles (you can get larger size if required). Standard single line booster for all original brake plumbing. I am still looking for the dual outlet one.
