Now C'mon you jokers....Ya have to be patient....
I have had a very stressful week...i've had to work!
Yes work!, don't worry i'm not to happy about it.
I know...i should have finished the story first..
And everyone got to where they were going and most of them were happy..
THE END

Cont....
As we progressed North, we could hear a few familiar voices on the UHF.
There had been additional communications made between vehicles using state of the art technology, that in itself was a far cry from years past.
Imagine how some of the 'ol blokes' would go getting into some of todays rockets..
Every conceivable gadget on board and most of it automated..
And in the same token, returning some of todays operators to a cabin lined with sheetmetal, no floor covering, no suspension seat, no heater, no wireless, no cb, uhf or mobile phones...
How things have progressed, some things for the worse, but most things for the better..
Its runs like this that brings us back into some degree of reality, even with all the extras we have 'rebuilt' into some of our ol trucks..
We had picked up a few extra runners to our group of four trucks...or had we caught up and joined up with others??
Nah, they joined us, this is our story.we can tweak it to suit..
It was very evident that Marulan was going to be the stopping point...
A few of the boys had sustained hunger all the way from Gundagai..they couldn't possibly run all the way into Sydney without at least one more feed..
In the past we would have pulled up at the roadhouse...
Today, we pull into yet another major 'Service Centre'..
Personally i don't see where the 'Service' bit fits in..
Unfortunately, so much of what was a good friendly place to stop, grab some fuel and a feed, has turned into a profit driven environment, in many cases, void of personality or service..
Certainly one aspect of the road that i do miss..
Anyway...into the Service Centre..
There were a few ol bangas here already, and plenty more rolling in..
It sure is nice to see the vehicles of old, out and about once more.
Whether they are restored or just cleaned up and driven, they are all great to see and every one of them a credit to their owners..
A chance to catch up with a few blokes, while some of the gear was checked over..
Time ticked by pritty quick as we made a few necessary adjustments to loading and mechanical situations that had arisen on our journey..
Mateship was still alive and well in our sector of the industry..Blokes more than willing to lend a hand, or a few tools, to get a bloke out of trouble..
There were a few more phone calls made, as we organised a few odds and ends that would need to be taken care of later in the day..
As we rounded up the boys for our final run into Sydney,
the 'late model roadhouse' was filled with the sights, sounds and smells of yesterday..
Perkins, Jimmys, petrol Fords.. Strap trailers, Tarped loads...we had em all here..
Bloody fantastic..This is, what its all about..
Away we go again...
This time our final destination only a few hours away..
The excitement was starting to build with each passing mile...
We had been looking forward to this run for a good while now..
We settled back into a steady pace as our growing conga line made its way north toward Casula..
Another glimpse in the mirror....
Hmmmmm....
I told ya to watch him....
Away he goes....
And he is off!
"Hey Chocs......can he do that?"
Apparently Trev, Apparently he can...and he just did!....
chocs
to be continued...

I reckon Swishy is onto something... he mentioned about the big tank o' fiz on the back af my Mack...
Well it started that way, Swisho! As you can see, some blokes had OTHER ideas.. A bit of FOWL PLAY was planned apparantly...
Firstly they hid the keys to the Mack. Choc's reckons I lost em, but thats a cheap excuse eh. They wanted my 12k of Fiz, and nothing was going to stip em...This fella was caught underneath trying to get the bung out...
THEN, look what happened next!!!!! Yep, he's SIPHONING 12000 LITRES OF FIZ!!!!!
You blokes think we don't know what goes on, but our spy cameras see all...
Then Browny and the boys are standing round trying to look innocent, as if they had no part in it....
AND NEXT, I turn me back (they tried to distract me with some silly old truck show) and the whole bloody tank has gone !!!!! Look at this bloke, pretending he knows nothing! As if!
BUt it all turned out ok in the end, Mr Plod caught em at last, and no more fiz for them !!!!
I'm told they will be banished to Interland and forced to learn all about Screamy oily things in Gilly's new weapon !
Cheers!
Richard

Chocs & Prodrive
Great Continuation of the Story
Absolutely love it,
And SWMBOB wonders why I show more interest in this forum than the TV of an evening
I keep telling her with the stuff that comes through this forum you could make a great comedy TV show.
Cheers

Hey GeoffB, is that one of them Air Powered kettles you've got cooking there. I thought Gilly or Choc's had the patent on them ?
